i don't even know where to begin, so im just going to write,
write about how difficult it is to be a human being with emotions.
how confusing it is to live in a society that pushes the notion of being an "individual"
AN INDIVIDUAL that conforms to the conceptions of society. that "fits in" by "standing out".
it i s if my generation pushes and strives to live by individualism. everyone wants to be different and they end up being the same. the subcultures become mainstream and society gets broken up in to "trendsetters" and "poser", when in reality, the "trendsetters" were just posing first.
i think teenagers are so concerned about there exterior, because we have this preconceived notion that our exteriors are symbolism of our self conceptions. every time we are in the presence of others, we are "acting". we are putting on a show, a mask, acting the way "we should act". acting the way to receive the highest social reward, Praise. its become about "showing the real me". THE REAL YOU.
We are never ourselves, except when we our alone. when no one is passing judgement. when no one is inferring.
i think in order to be happy and to be an "individual" we must cease to care about uniqueness. uniqueness is RARE. it should not matter. just love one's self. love the inner beauty. i know it sounds rather cliche, but its truth. when you stop thinking about how to impress, you begin to exude the inner self, the real.

Hey Raven-
This is very good ... I hope you are going to school for some form of writing, journalism, or communications. You get your point across quite eloquently.
hey rae,
love it!
hey, some of us are born unique and don't have to work at it...like us =D
